One app.
Every detail.
A complete tour of what pzip 1.0.0 can do — file by file, format by format. Nothing here is a roadmap; it is all in the app today.
A file manager that stays out of your way.
Every folder on your phone, with the tools you reach for daily. Built for speed on big folders and careful with your data.
How to use itSearch everything
Instant name search across storage from the second letter you type. When the media index finds nothing, pzip walks the folders for you.
List or grid
Breadcrumb navigation, list or adaptive grid view, and a live “Search in this folder” filter.
Sort the way you think
Name, date, size or type — ascending or descending — with folders first and hidden files on demand.
All the everyday actions
Copy, move, rename, share, compress, extract, details, open with another app, add to favourites — on one item or a whole selection.
Shortcuts that matter
Download, DCIM, Pictures, Movies, Music, Documents, WhatsApp, Telegram and Android/media — one tap away, plus your favourites and SD card.
Real file details
Type, size, location, modified date and access. Photos add dimensions and megapixels; media adds duration, resolution, bitrate, artist and album.
Secure shred
Overwrite a file with random passes and a final zero pass, rename it randomly, then delete it — so it is hard to recover.
Create & edit basics
New folder, new text file, select all, folder details and a clipboard bar that remembers what you are copying or moving.
Works with other apps
Open files from any app, or use “Share to pzip” to turn shared files straight into an archive.
The archiver you wanted on your desktop — in your pocket.
Open almost anything, create the formats people actually use, and see exactly what is inside before you extract.
How to use it6 formats to create
ZIP, 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.XZ and TAR.BZ2. Convert any archive to another of these formats in one step.
20+ formats to open
Including RAR and RAR5 through the official UnRAR engine, 7z volumes, split ZIPs, comic books, EPUB and app packages.
Six compression levels
Store, Fastest, Fast, Normal, Good and Best — on a simple “Faster, larger ↔ Slower, smaller” slider.
Real encryption
Protect ZIPs with AES-256 (default), AES-128 or legacy ZipCrypto. A strength meter rates your password and can generate a strong 16-character one.
Split archives
Break a ZIP into 10 MB, 25 MB, 100 MB, 700 MB, 1 GB or 4 GB parts for email, cloud limits or FAT32 drives.
Look inside first
Browse folders in an archive, preview files, see original vs packed size, and extract only the entries you pick.
Test & inspect
Test integrity and view format, file count, compression ratio, encryption method, solid and multi-volume flags and comments.
Safe extraction
Blocks “zip slip” path tricks, skips TAR symlinks and writes to a temporary file first, so a failed extract never leaves half a file.
Smart conflicts
When a file already exists: keep both, replace, skip or replace only if newer. Optionally open the folder when done.
Built-in benchmark
Measure compress and extract speed for ZIP · Deflate, 7Z · LZMA2 and TAR.BZ2 on your own phone.
A serious video player, powered by libVLC.
The same engine trusted on desktops everywhere, wrapped in gestures and panels designed for one hand.
How to use itPlays what you throw at it

Inside APKs
Browse an APK’s contents like any archive, or install it with the system installer.
Free up space without the guesswork.
A scan never deletes anything. You see every file, and you decide.
How to use itSeven smart categories
Junk files, empty folders, duplicate files, large files (100 MB+), old downloads (90+ days), old screenshots (30+ days) and install files.
True duplicate detection
Files are grouped by size, then by sampled SHA-1 fingerprints, then confirmed with a full SHA-256. The oldest copy is kept as the original.
Sensible pre-selection
Junk, empty folders and duplicate copies are pre-selected; personal files are left for you to choose.
Storage analyzer
Folders ranked by size with bars — tap to drill into what is really using your space.
30-day Trash
Deleted items wait 30 days with a countdown. Restore puts them back where they were, renaming if needed.
Private by design, not by setting.
No account, no ads, no analytics. Optional protections use proven cryptography on your device.
How to use itSafe folder
Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key kept in the Android Keystore. Data is sealed in 256 KB authenticated chunks and the file index is encrypted too.
App lock
A 4–8 digit PIN stored as a PBKDF2-SHA256 hash (120,000 iterations). Locks again after 60 seconds away; wrong guesses trigger a 30-second cool-down.
Biometric unlock
Unlock with your fingerprint on Android 9 and newer.
Block screenshots
Hide pzip from recent apps, screenshots and screen recordings.
Clear traces
Clear temporary files, history and recent archives whenever you like.
Small utilities you will be glad you have.
The Tools tab collects power features in one tidy place.
How to use itChecksums
CRC32, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 in a single pass. Paste a published value to confirm “Match — the file is intact”.
Password generator
20-character passwords without look-alike characters, ready to copy.
Operations
Long tasks run in the background with speed, time left, current file and cancel — even when you leave the app.
Progress notifications
Follow compress, extract, copy and move from the notification shade, with a note when each one finishes.
Make it yours
Light, dark or system theme and four accents — Sky, Mint, Lavender and Peach — plus subtle haptic feedback.
Phones & tablets
Bottom tabs on phones become a side rail in landscape and on tablets.
The full compatibility table.
Detected by file extension, with a magic-byte check as a fallback when a file has the wrong name.

Video and audio playback uses libVLC, so pzip plays the same wide range of containers and codecs as VLC, subject to what your phone’s hardware can decode.
Make room for everything.
One download replaces your file manager, archiver, video player and gallery. About 23 MB on most phones.
